Includes deeds, wills, estate inventories and other personal legal documents kept by William Dodd; bills of lading, ship insurance papers, account balances, receipts, and other business records of merchants William, Benjamin, and George Dodd; and correspondence with Horace Barnard who managed a branch of the family business in Charleston, S.C. Includes documents related to the ships Nancy, Friendship, and Flying Fish, and imports such as sugar and coffee from Havana and other locations. Also, school records of Benjamin Dodd while attending the North Boston Monitorial School in 1828.
